It’s all about love.
Whether she was sailing through California pear orchards horseback as a kid, partnering with
her horse Glow’s Jubilee to pick their way neatly through a Trail course as an amateur, watching
excitedly from the rail as her son and, more recently, her grandchildren began to show, Ingrid
Miller’s relationship with horses has always been about love. And it’s a love for the industry that
prompted her and her husband Bob to establish Ingrid Miller Quarter Horses, LLC. The goal, the
couple says, is to share the love by promoting quality Quarter Horses.

Ingrid Miller Quarter Horses LLC was born just prior to the Millers’ 2023 purchase of VS The
Fireman. The purchase in itself was an act of love. “Bob and I, we’ve come a long way. We always
try to give each other what we need and want, and this purchase was kind of like that. He did it for me,” Ingrid says.
A long way is an understatement. When the pair married in 1973, they were living on a combined
$40 a week while finishing college. Bob worked at a gas station, and Ingrid worked in retail.
They’d bought their first house - a two bedroom, one bath - for $41,000. Through determination
and an undying belief in and love for each other, they made it, and have pushed their way to the
top, becoming a horse industry power couple and generous philanthropists. The Millers believe
wholeheartedly in giving graciously; some of the causes they hold most dear include Tunnels to
Towers, the Mesa Food Bank, Sister Mary/Salvation Army, and Restoring Veterans’ Hope.
The passion they have for the horse, the horse industry, and each other compelled them to
acquire Gronk and, through him, seek to give others the opportunity to experience the blessing
that is owning and showing a quality Quarter Horse.
“Gronk is one of the best stallions out there, and we hope to make it possible that more people
have an opportunity to have really nice quality horses. He is putting out a very strong line of
babies that are going on to have their own legacies as wonderful show horses,” Ingrid says.
The Millers’ other horses include Cool Moving Lady and Congress and NSBA World Champion
Socks for Dayz. Whether considering just this show string or all of Ingrid’s time in the show pen
over the years, the accomplishments are innumerable, but what she values most about her
involvement in the horse industry are the relationships she’s built over the years.
